FundGiving's Mission

Unite DoGooders to help GoodCauses with a unique innovative alternative to fundraising. Bring the community together. Create the best darn place to work on Earth. That's FundGiving.

FundGiving enables organizations to raise more money and increase their donor base by providing a risk-free, easy-to-implement online fundraising solution.

Fundraising Through FundGiving

Every cause needs money. Not all of us have it to give. But, everyone has something to sell and there's always a buyer somewhere. FundGiving melds these ideas into a highly innovative solution to online fundraising (and shopping!)

Kick off your fundraiser by simply asking supporters to buy and sell donated things, time and talent on FundGiving's Marketplace. Since your supporters donate all of the items for sale, when buyers buy you get the proceeds! The money from every sale goes directly to your cause. The best part? Your supporters take home only items they want and need AND get to do good.

Now, isn't that much better than selling cookie dough or putting on a labor-intensive special event? You supporters will surely think so!

The Story Behind FundGiving

FundGiving founder (and life-long do-gooder) Amy Wolanski credits her passion for non-profits -- and a beehive – for inspiring the idea. A friend, moved by the work Amy was doing with Flying Kites Global (a non-profit dedicated to improving the care of children), desperately wanted to help fundraise but was just not cut out for making the ask. When a woman offered the friend a $250 Flying Kites Global donation for removing a pesky beehive, an idea was born.

Knowing that FundGiving could be the solution not-for-profit and for-profit causes needed to make it through the economic rough spot, Amy made a pact with co-founder Ann Taormina to bring the idea to life as soon as possible. And here we are!

Why FundGiving Works for Donors

Your supporters have one thing in common – your cause. Their enthusiasm (and their bank balances) ebb and flow, but they believe in you and want to help. By making fundraising for your organization a part of their daily life, you have a much better chance of success.

Think about it. Everyone has a spare ticket to the game every now and then. Most of us pay for a vacation at least once a year. Why wouldn't they donate the ticket or rent a vacation home from other supporters through FundGiving so your cause gets the money? For those who love the work you do, it's a no-brainer.

Local business(es) can get into the action too. What better way to drum up business than to donate their products or services through FundGiving? It's a great way to be a corporate citizen, as the listings and a link to the business Web site will be seen by the entire FundGiving community.

Why FundGiving Works for You

It's easy:
FundGiving administers all aspects of the fundraiser, including processing donations and sending donation acknowledgement letters. You simply need to raise awareness within your supporter community using the templates provided in our free FundTools marketing toolkit.

It's fast:
Setting up your account takes about 30 minutes. Once you register your cause, your fundraiser is on auto-pilot. That leaves more time to promote your event and generate participation.

It's simple:
All individual transactions are processed by FundGiving. FundGiving takes out all fees, and sends one check to your cause each quarter.

It's risk-free:
There are no up-front costs. Transaction fees and annual subscription fee are deducted only after you've raised the money.

It's compelling:
Supporters from fellow do-gooders may buy items benefitting your cause, becoming a prospect for future campaigns. What's more, everyone participating in the FundGiving marketplace has access to your organization's profile (including photos and video) and a link to your Web site.

It's community-minded:
Your buyer and seller community builds bonds around your cause, increasing participation and loyalty.

It's intelligent:
Campaign totals, goal progress, ranking of top donors, a listing of items for sale benefitting your cause, new recruits – it's all available from your FundGiving account page.

Don't Ask Your Supporters to Fundraise. Ask Them to FundGive!

Even before the site launched in 2011, charities and worthy causes lined up to try it. It's perfect for your next fundraiser. What are you waiting for?
